Before the dvd or blu-ray disc or streaming, you actually watched movies from the huge contraption called the VHS tape. The VHS (Video Home System) was not that different from a cassette tape. Just bigger, clunkier, and mostly in black. And you would only play this in a VCR. You either rented one of these or made home movies with the VHS.
Beta was another one that you could purchase. Smaller than a VHS tape and hard to come by at that time. I definitely remember putting this into a vcr and rewinding it when the movie was over. With a DVD you don't have to do that. I just love modern technology
VHS ... What can I say!! I worked ten years in a video store, I could splice, fix, respool these things with my eyes closed!! I recall dad bringing home our very first VHS player. Remote!!! That was plugged into the machines on a long cable. We were never allowed to use it. Amazing how times changemy three year old can find her dvds and play them and even use the tablet to watch yYouTube!! No more sitting up for hours to tape your favourite movie and waiting to pause when the adds are on. Oh... And don't forget to BE KIND AND REWIND
@ James: There is a small chunk of me that misses the vhs tapes like for family home movies. They had a certain quality that only the tape can produce lol
@ Michelle: How can I forget, be kind and rewind. They would place that on the tapes at times lol Don't forget to rewind your dvds too LMAO!!!
