My first trilogy

I didn't have much patience as a child, but that didn't stop me from watching eight hours of Star Wars.

I only ever watched movies if they were animated. Star Wars was the exception. I'll never forget those three VHS tapes stacked on top of the TV. I never put them away and I never had to. Whenever my Saturday morning cartoons would end, that's when I would finally get up and switch my TV to channel 3, turn on the VCR and insert Star Wars: A New Hope.

I must've watched the trilogy 200 times, maybe more. There's no way to keep count when every time I had a moment, there I was sliding in either of the three films. Side note: I have two sisters who I fought with regularly when it came to what to watch next. The way I would get them to agree was by putting on The Return of the Jedi because of the Ewoks. My sisters liked the Ewoks enough to consent on watching Star Wars. So I've probably watched that episode the most.

I remember the big reveal at the end of "Return of the Jedi," when Darth Vader said, "Luke, I am your father." It was literally mind blowing for me. I was watching it at home with my younger brother, and we both just looked and each other, jaws to the floor, and then turned back to the screen. Absolutely amazing.
